Astarie Font Review
As a handmade seller who spends hours refining every detail of my shop listings, I always look for fonts that bring a little extra flair without sacrificing clarity. Astarie has quickly become one of my go-to display fonts, especially when designing candle labels and seasonal packaging. Its modern yet approachable style adds a touch of personality that feels just right for small-batch creations.
Astarie for Candle Labels and Seasonal Packaging
Astarie is a modern display font that brings a trendy yet not stiff aesthetic to any project. When I tested it on a set of holiday candle labels, the font’s soft curves and balanced spacing made each label feel unique but cohesive. The subtle variations in the letterforms give it a handcrafted vibe that pairs well with rustic or minimalist designs. Whether I’m labeling a lavender-scented jar or a winter-themed soy candle, Astarie adds visual interest without overwhelming the design.
For small labels, I found that keeping text short and centered works best. Astarie handles short phrases like “Winter Wishes” or “Cozy Nights” beautifully, making it ideal for product tags, gift boxes, and seasonal signage. However, I wouldn’t recommend using it for long paragraphs or dense label information—its decorative elements can become too busy in those cases.
Astarie for Greeting Cards and Wedding Invitations
When I designed a set of wedding invitations, Astarie stood out for its elegant yet playful character. It worked particularly well for titles and headings, giving the design a fresh, contemporary edge. The font’s versatility allows it to transition from formal to casual depending on how it’s used. For example, I paired it with a clean sans serif for the body text, which helped balance the more stylized headlines.
I also used Astarie on a series of greeting cards for a local boutique. The font added a nice contrast to simple illustrations and solid backgrounds, making the text pop without competing with the artwork. It’s great for headers, captions, and decorative wording, especially when you want to keep the overall design uncluttered but visually engaging.

As someone who sells digital printables, I appreciate fonts that work well across different file formats and platforms. Astarie delivers on that front, offering clear, legible characters even at smaller sizes. I used it for a printable wall art set, and the font held up nicely on both screen and paper. Its modern typography makes it perfect for planner pages, DIY templates, and social media graphics.
When building my shop branding, Astarie helped establish a consistent visual identity. It pairs well with other premium fonts, especially when used alongside a simple serif or sans serif for body text. I’ve also experimented with pairing it with a script font for a more handwritten feel, which works well for custom orders or personalized items.
Astarie for Tote Bags and Merchandise Design
Testing Astarie on a tote bag design was an interesting experience. The font looked great on larger surfaces, where its details could shine. I used it for a “Welcome Home” message, and the result was both eye-catching and readable. It’s a good choice for logos, slogans, and short phrases on t-shirts, mugs, and other merchandise, as long as the text isn’t too small or crowded.
One thing to note is that Astarie may not be the best choice for very tiny cuts or intricate laser engraving. If you’re planning to use it for something like a small pendant or a detailed sticker, you might want to test it first. But for most merchandise applications, it performs well and adds a stylish touch to your products.
